I use 4o generally, with some exceptions for complex analysis tasks. For designing assessment tasks, I suggest providing the following inputs as part of your prompt: a significant amount of context about the subject matter, the level, the kind of assessment task you have in mind, the purpose of the assessment, how you plan to follow-up on the assessment, what you want to avoid in the assessment process, and any examples of relevant past assessment tasks that could serve as models. OMG!!! I feel like I just stumbled over the arc of the covenant. I’m personally beginning to work with ChatGPT to help me iterate around the syllabus I developed to teach seniors – as in old people like myself – how to make short, media-rich e-books based on their personal experiences with the goal of changing their relationship to their adult children and their grandchildren as the education system dissolves. I want to help them function as elders in their families. This will help them find more meaning and purpose in their lives while also passing lessons learned through the generations. I’m a teacher and a journalist and an artist … and I’m also a climate survivor who’s had a profound re-orientation of my life after losing everything I owned including all my materials and tools to a wildfire. So I’m starting over … and Im seeing that ChatGPT can be profoundly helpful to me. Thank you for posting this thorough, inspiring article.!!
